According to Forbes, President Donald Trump’s net worth dwindled to $3.5 billion on March 2017, which is roughly a third of what he claimed during his successful US presidential campaign. Even though he ranked further away from Bill Gates on Forbes’ richest list, the President is still a lot wealthier than most of us. Trump is not experiencing problems of the ordinary people like making the money to pay rent, student loans, or Netflix subscription because he is so rich – he owns a lot of luxurious items the average American can’t afford. These are the most expensive things the current POTUS owns:
1. Cars
Donald Trump’s cars are pretty impressive. Well, what can you expect from a billionaire? He owns a 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT, a 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car and a couple of Rolls-Royces. His McLaren came with a price tag of $445,000 when it was first introduced to the market, and a Rolls Royce costs at least $500,000.
2. Helicopters
World-class business magnates own at least one helicopter, but Trump owns three. The best of them, the Sikorsky S-76, was revamped for $750,000 to make it “Trump-worthy.” He hired designer Eric Roth to renovate it, and it now includes plenty of 24-Karat gold plating.
3. Airplane
Talk about another toy to fly in the sky. Trump owns a Boeing 757 airplane which has multiple bedrooms, a main lounge, a dining room and a private guest room. His master bedroom has its own entertainment system and a master bathroom with a 24-Karat gold sink. The 757 is highly customized with a pair of Rolls-Royce engines, and Trump considers it his favorite toy.
4. 68th floor Penthouse
The Trump Tower’s penthouse down on 5th Avenue in New York is where Donald Trump resided with Melania Trump and their son Baron. The interesting thing about the penthouse is not just its three floors and its stunning view of the Central Park and the Manhattan skyline – it is screaming “My owner is so rich” because you can see gold everywhere. It features marble walls, crown moldings, crystal chandeliers and ceilings painted with various Greek Gods, plus gold, gold and gold. Priced at over $100 million, this penthouse is very extravagant; no wonder Melania and Baron don’t want to leave it for the White House.
5. Mar-A-Lago
This is Trump’s private club and exclusive vacation resort getaway, where he spends some of his time of work. The Mar-A-Lago is a 110,000 square foot property located in Palm Springs, Florida. His mansion here has 58 bedrooms, 33 baths, 12 fireplaces and 126 rooms altogether. Trump bought the prime south Florida estate in 1985 for $10 million, and now the residence is valued over $250 million.
6. Trump National Golf Club
Rich people play golf, but the wealthier ones own golf courses. The president currently owns 17 golf courses spread from California to New York, and abroad from Scotland and Ireland to the United Arab Emirates. His golf courses are prestigious and the most fascinating. Combined, it is one of his most expensive assets, and one without the “Trump” name attached to it.
7. Trump Tower
The Trump Tower is the president’s most well-known property. There are many Trump Towers across the country and abroad, but the most popular one is in Manhattan. It is a 58-story skyscraper (although his penthouse at the top floor is named 68th floor), which is full of apartments, shops and various offices, as well as home to the Trump’s first family. It serves as the headquarters for the Trump Organization. The Tower has become home to Bruce Willis, Michael Jackson, and Cristiano Ronaldo. It also served as the site of Wayne Enterprises in 2012 Batman film The Dark Knight Rises.
8. Trump Building
40 Wall Street was purchased by Trump in 1995 for $10 million and renamed it as the Trump Building. When it was completed in 1930, it was designed to be the tallest building in the world. However, its title was very short-lived. The building got the title for only a month after its height was surpassed by the Chrysler Building.
9. Trump Organization
Donald Trump is the owner of one of the biggest real estate companies on the planet, the Trump Organization. It was founded in 1923 by his grandmother and father. When Trump was elected president, he was no longer involved with managing the business, but the company remains under his ownership. The Trump Organization is not only involved in real estate; it also owns businesses related to hospitality services, financial services, food and beverages, retailing, business education, construction, model management, beauty pageants, media, entertainment and publishing.
10. Lots of gold
You probably noticed on this article that some of his properties are designed with gold. Trump loves gold, and he likes to get his possessions gold plated or engraved with his gold family emblem. He even sips from gold-rimmed cups and eats in gold bowls, which are stored in gold-rimmed cabinets.
